ARLIS/NA New England met for a Roundtable Discussion on Friday, December 18 from 2:30 to 5 pm. The event was held in the conference room of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, 230 The Fenway, Boston.
The discussion topics were based on the economic downturn and how it had affected our New England art libraries. It was an opportunity for constructive dialogue and information sharing concerning the budget cuts, staffing changes, and collection development challenges we face. While these changes are naturally very stressful, this was an opportunity to share with colleagues the solutions, negotiations, and creative or radical proposals being made in the art information field. Amy Lucker, ARLIS/NA President joined us for the discussion.
It was also an opportunity to get together before the winter break and spread good cheer.
